Fundraising Campaign Services
The IDS role in your synagogue campaign is to:
1) Survey and Determine Feasibility
• Conduct private interviews with select synagogue members
• Assess strengths and weaknesses for launching the campaign
• Identify potential campaign leaders and major donor
2) Develop and Plan the Campaign
• Formulate the campaign theme, case and support materials
• Define the overall pyramid of giving
• Create campaign naming and dedication opportunities
• Outline the time-table of action
• Design the campaign leadership structure
3) Identify and Recruit Leadership
• Target and enlist the main campaign leadership committee
• Define specific leadership roles and expectations
• Recruit Chairs, Vice Chairs and volunteer solicitors
4) Motivate and Train Volunteers
• Train the senior leadership for major gifts solicitations
• Train all workers for solicitations
• Motivate volunteers with campaign team “spirit”
5) Organize and Coordinate
• Set up rating and assignment selection for all members
• Program the campaign leadership meetings
• Prepare members for hosting effective parlor meetings
• Liaison with the staff to fully integrate campaign effort
6) Cultivate and Solicit
• Cultivate working relationships with prospective donors
• Research potential major gift prospects
• Accompany leadership on key solicitations
• Conduct personal face-to-face solicitations
7) Direct and Support the Campaign Structure
• Provide campaign guidance and counsel to the leadership
• Assist volunteers in preparing and implementing assignments
• Energize leadership and workers for maximum results
• Ensure on-going campaign publicity
8) Administer and Record
• Set up an efficient system to track pledges and payments
• Generate regular campaign progress reports
• Supervise the donor recognition and acknowledgment policy
9) Monitor & Expedite Campaign Completion
• Track the campaign momentum and pace of solicitations
• Pressure workers for closing solicitation assignments
• Supervise the telethon and mail appeals
• Plan the campaign closing program
10) Review and Evaluate
• Conduct a joint evaluation of fundrasising campaign accomplishments
• Provide for the continuity of the campaign program
• Furnish recommendations for long range profitability
